GetBack media has raised $1.7 million in a Series A round of funding. Beringea led the round with other undisclosed investors participating. GetBack is a site aggregator that churns out vintage games, video and audio clips.

Video game entertainment network Machinima.com has received $3.85 million in capital from MK Capital and other private investors to help fund business expansion. Machinima’s advertisers include EA, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Paramount Pictures, Sega, Universal Studios and Warner Bros.

Gnip helps other Web services (primarily sites with social elements) share information provided by users. Content distributors (like Digg, Twitter, etc.) and content consumers (like Plaxo) benefit by having a single dumping (or scavenging) ground for their data and a simple way to get to it.

Earth Class Mail has raised $5.1 million in funding through a convertible note. The company has also agreed to work with the national mail carrier of Switzerland (Swiss Post) in a deal that will allow the Post to license its technology for converting snail mail into digital files. Earth Class Mail is currently raising a Series B round that it estimates could approach $30 million.

AdMob was founded in 2006, has raised $34.3 million to date and has tripled the ads it served last year to roughly 4.5 billion.

The latest cash infusion will be used to recruit staffers in sales and markets that are booming (India and South Africa, for example).

Online education site Brightstorm has reeled in $6 million in its first round of funding. Venture capital firm KTB supplied the funding, which will reportedly be used to launch an online learning network.

Movidia has raised $14 million in its first round of funding, led by Celtic House Venture Partners and Capital-E.

Current investors Cisco Systems, Inc., Comcast Interactive Capital, Intel Capital, Mayfield Fund and Polaris Venture Partners participated in the round.

BlackArrow’s ad-management system is designed specifically for video content distributed over any on-demand platform — aiming to enable content providers and distributors to maximize advertising revenues, and improve advertisers’ ability to reach target audiences. BlackArrow has raised $38 million to date.

Zvents will use the proceeds to expand the reach of its local listings advertising network, which enables both local businesses and national chains to promote their locations with search-targeted events such as sales and weekly specials. Zvents will also further invest in expanding the deployment of its successful local search platform, which currently powers a network of more than 250 media partners.

Zvents was founded in 2005. It is a local search engine powering a network of hundreds of Web and mobile partners, featuring event listings to promote local businesses.

Online gamers Trion World Network has raised a whopping $70 million in its third round of financing. Act II Capital led; DCM, Trinity Ventures, Rustic Canyon, Time Warner and Peacock Equity all participated. So far, the company has raised more than $100 million.

Startup Ooma just got $16 million in funding from new investor Telecommunications Development Fund and existing investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson, WorldView Technology Partners, Founders Fund and WI Harper Group.

Adap.tv, creators of online video platform OneSource, has secured $13 million in Series B funding. The round was led by Spark Capital; Redpoint Venture and Gemini Israel Fund also participated. Adap.tv said it will use the financing to accelerate the development of its flagship offering Adap.tv OneSource and its adoption by video publishers and online ad networks.

Social media platform CityVoter.com closed a Series B round of $2.6 million. Allen & Company and Dace Ventures participated.
