Travelocity just constructed a travel app for hooking up users with vaction pakages, flight and hotel deals.

The Weather Channel developed an app for on-demand weather reports in a user’s region.

Venus Williams’ new toolbar enables fans to receive images, videos and news updates on all major browsers.

AOL Latino built an app to deliver Spanish-language news, sports and entertainment — as well as a shopping component.

It’s free. Some of the plentiful publishers that use the Conduit App Marketplace are Major League Baseball, Groupon, Zynga, Fox News and TechCrunch.

Yahoo has added a prominent “Bookmarks” button to the toolbar that lets users quickly bookmark whatever site they happen to be viewing at the moment and manage their existing Yahoo Bookmarks for personal use, or Yahoo-owned social bookmarking service del.icio.us, for sharing.

“Today’s launch of the new, integrated Yahoo! Toolbar and Yahoo! Bookmarks with advanced features puts the Web at consumers’ fingertips,” said Tomi Poutanen, Yahoo Search’s product management director in a statement. “By focusing on the Yahoo! Bookmarks and del.icio.us brands we are able to deliver to consumers market-leading products for both personal and social bookmarking.”

Additional Toolbar features include a “search suggest” feature, which offers search term suggestions as you type your query into the Yahoo search box, and the ability to create custom toolbar buttons. New features for Bookmarks include bookmark thumbnail images, tagging, better search, drag and drop capability, and the ability to share links through email or Yahoo Messenger.

The co-branded toolbar includes Yahoo web search, a Yahoo email alert that tells the user if they have any unread mail in their Yahoo Mail inbox, provides access to HP customer support services, and blocks popup ads. When users fire up Internet Explorer 7 for the first time on a new HP PC or laptop, they see the Yahoo start page, which contains links to Yahoo content, services, and news.

“Partnering with a company like HP puts Yahoo! in an excellent position to be able to distribute our most widely adopted offerings, like Yahoo! Search and the new Yahoo! Mail, to an even broader audience across the globe,” said Yahoo COO Dan Rosensweig in a statement.

Accoona’s Chief Technology Officer, Steven Schwartz, tells ADOTAS, the “tool bar is enabled with voice technology. [For] any text you can see in a browser, highlight the text and press a button and it will talk to you.” Regarding the educational potential of the technology, Schwartz also explained, “Our partners at China Daily have discussed this – that it will help students of all ages in China to speak the spoken language of English.” Users can also listen to the text on one web page while continuing to surf the web.

Accoona’s new technology will soon help users read and listen to their emails, and the company is planning on expanding the technology to include multiple languages this year.

“With VMN Toolbar Wizard, publishers have access to a complete toolbar solution without any investment on their end. They can build their toolbar in a extremely user-friendly environment, customize it according to their needs, deploy it and track usage with user statistics,” said Visicom CEO Patrice Carrenard in a statement.

Visicom also lets you track the usage of your toolbar and generate real-time reports about how many people are using your toolbar to search the web, how many people have it installed, and how many clicks on each toolbar button. Currently the VMN Toolbar Wizard only creates toolbars compatible with Internet Explorer, but Visicom plans to have Firefox support ready by the end of April.

Users can use the Dealio Toolbar in two different ways to search for bargains. Users can either enter key words into the Dealio search window located in the browser navigation bar without leaving the site they are currently visiting or highlight any word or phrase on a web page, right click, and select “Compare Prices with Dealio” from the context menu. This time-saving “Select and Compare” feature will then allow Dealio to automatically search for and present the best prices on products that relate to the highlighted text from the Internet’s leading merchants and eBay.
