Pixsy And Lycos Create Partnership

Pixsy Corporation, a media search platform that powers private label video and image search engines, announced this week that it has made a distribution deal with Lycos Inc., a provider of social publishing, media and search services. Under the agreement, Lycos will utilize Pixsy’s media search platform to offer video and image search to their network of owned and operated properties and affiliates.

Pixsy’s media search technology enables Lycos users to search a large index of online videos and images. The technology allows a site to run a branded multimedia search engine with content customized to a specific audience.

Edward Noel, GM of search products for Lycos stated “We chose Pixsy for their robust multimedia search offering and deep index of the most popular consumer content on the web. This effort reflects our company-wide focus on providing Lycos users with a more visual-oriented, multi-media experience across all of our products and services.”

Quigo Strategizes with Pixsy

Auction-based advertising provider Quigo today announced a strategic partnership with Pixsy Corporation, a media search platform. With the agreement, both Quigo and Pixsy will create visual search portals that are private-label and location-and topic-specific.

With Pixsy’s Media Search Platform, users can search for videos, images of local interests and other multimedia content. The portals will work with Quigo’s AdSonar online ad network so that national advertisers can offer content-targeted messages on a pay-for-performance basis.

With the first installment of the program to come later this quarter, Pixsy will use its technology to capture, index and deliver the most current and relevant thumbnail images and video. This will enable users’ access to location-and topic-specific visual content when they use certain keywords. Quigo will enable local and national marketers to bid on pay-for-performance advertising by using a customized private-label version of its AdSonar platform.

In a press statement, Pixsy CEO, Chase Norlin said, “By leveraging Quigo’s sophisticated content-targeting technology and pay-for-performance advertising platform, we will be able to offer users more relevant information, generate more revenue for publishers and offer advertisers greater value.”

Media Search Engine Pixsy Powering EVTV1

Online video portal EVTV1 has signed a deal with media search engine Pixsy to use Pixsy’s video search technology with EVTV1′s Vidsense media player. Pixsy’s search technology finds still images as well as video.

The Vidsense video player lets publishers embed ad-supported 45 or 90-second video clips into their sites and share the ad revenue. Pre-roll ads are 15 or 30 seconds long. Publishers can’t choose what videos they want on their site. Instead, clips are selected automatically by Vidsense, depending on what content channel an affiliate publisher chooses, the content of their site, and the video’s rating (rated R to rated G).

“We’re excited to be partnering with Pixsy,” said Jaffer Ali, CEO of EVTV in a statement. “They have an extraordinary team that makes working together effortless. We will be using Pixsy’s search inside our syndicated VidsenseÃ¢â€žÂ¢ player appearing on hundreds of websites.”

Pixsy operates a consumer level media search engine in their own right, but also licenses out its technology to companies like EVTV1, PureVideo.com, and Blastro.com. EVTV1 serves video clips in several different categories, including old TV clips, bizarre news, sports and animation.
