He’s moving on to the chief executive slot at Juniper Networks.Johnson is getting out while the getting’s good: he was central in the failed negotiations to take over Yahoo and Microsoft’s chief, Steve Ballmer, is shaking up senior management in an attempt to play catch up with Google (and Yahoo) in the search/advertising arena. Microsoft is separating the two operations Johnson was responsible for – one unit will oversee online services (the company’s launched a search for a new head) and the other will run the Windows operating system unit (to be headed by Ballmer and three others).

Online advertising network interCLICK has appointed Jason Lynne as VP of Product Management. He will oversee engineering, product management, quality assurance and technical operations. He hails from Yahoo/Right Media, where he was director of solutions engineering.

Semantic advertising platform Peer39 has brought Hugh McGoran on board as senior vice president, advertising sales. Most recently, McGoran was vice president, eastern advertising sales for TACODA.

Elop will be assuming his position at the end of January and sharing the role of President with Robbie Beach, president of the entertainment and devices division and Kevin Johnson, president of the platform and services division reports the Wall Street Journal.

Raikes will continue on as a member of the management team assisting in the guidance of strategy until his total exit in September.

Elop worked at Juniper for a year after a length of time at Macromedia, where he served as president and CEO when the company was bought by Adobe.
