<p>The online advertiser &#8212; which owns Commission Junction, Smarter.com, CouponMountain.com and PriceRunner &#8212; reported $130.2 million in fourth-quarter revenue, missing Wall Street analyst estimates of 133.1 million.</p>
<p>The lead-gen business made up 48% of ValueClick&#8217;s revenue, but it&#8217;s been on the decline due to weak macroeconomic conditions and a Federal Trade Commission investigation that resulted in an $2.9 million settlement over allegations that it used deceptive marketing practices in violation of the CAN-SPAM and FTC Act. Talk of selling the underperforming lead-gen side have been <a href="http://www.adotas.com/2009/08/valueclick-settles-shareholder-lawsuit-over-deceptive-practices/" target="_self">brewing since the summer</a>.</p>
<p>ValueClick announced that it plans to focus instead on its online marketing services and tech businesses, growing them via organic initiatives and acquisitions.</p>

Newegg.com is an ecommerce company that specializes in providing consumer and businesses with solutions for a comprehensive digital lifestyle.</p>
<p>Newegg.com will be using Commission Junction&#8217;s CJ Vantage and CJ Associate services, programs that manage and optimize advertisers&#8217; affiliate programs and leverage Commission Junction&#8217;s network of over 50,000 productive publishers. Newegg will also leverage the affiliate marketing provider&#8217;s product catalog and item-based commission functionalities.</p>
<p>&#8220;Newegg.com grew to approximately $1.3 billion in annual sales in its first five years of operation,&#8221; said Tom Vadnais, President of ValueClick US and general manager of Commission Junction and Mediaplex. &#8220;We are proud to have a company with such explosive growth select us to assist them in managing and fueling continued growth. We are confident that our network of publishers and deep experience in performance marketing for consumer electronics will help them achieve their marketing goals.&#8221;</p>
<p>Howard Tong, VP of Newegg, explained the decision to utilize Commission Junction was the result of CJ&#8217;s technology, experience, and network of &#8220;top performing publishers.&#8221;</p>
<p>Half of the Internet Retailer&#8217;s Top 500 Retail Websites that have third-party programs, including Newegg.com, are Commission Junction clients.</p>
