Hosting and collocation company Hosting.com has just won a STTR Phase I grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to help develop technology that detects and prevents fraudulent clicks in pay-per-click systems. Click fraud rates reached 14.2% in the fourth quarter of 2006, the highest of the year, according to a report released today by Click Forensics.
