Erika Trautman is passionate about the evolution of online storytelling. With successful careers as a writer, producer, editor, and director, she deeply understands the importance of story in any communication, and yet has been disappointed with online video's inability to rise to its potential. So she started Rapt Media to change all of that, and in under two years she has built and grown a business that is positioned at the top of emerging video technologies, shared the stage with folks like Sheryl Sandberg, and solidified partnerships with powerhouse companies like HBO, Maybelline and Philips.
Before Rapt Media she founded and ran an Emmy Award Winning Production company, Outlier Films, and worked as an award-winning documentary filmmaker, including a stint alongside legendary investigative reporter, Lowell Bergman. Her work has aired on major networks, cable and PBS, and been shown at various film festivals.
She has a Bachelor’s degree from Yale University, where she studied theater and biology and a Master’s degree in Journalism from UC Berkeley.
