Independent agency Drumroll announced today that it has named Russell Lambrecht (pictured left) as Group Creative Director. An industry veteran, writer, and director with over 20 years of experience, Lambrecht has garnered prestigious advertising awards and recognition from Cannes, The One Show, Communication Arts, Adweek, and Creativity, among others.

Prior to joining Drumroll, Lambrecht served as Executive Creative Director at mcgarrybowen in New York for six years, where he worked on the Verizon and Droid accounts, representing the largest marketing budget of any brand in the U.S. He was previously Group Creative Director at GSD&M in Austin for over a decade. His illustrious work includes the now-iconic “Wanna Get Away” campaign for Southwest Airlines.

Lambrecht will handle work across Drumroll’s client roster, overseeing creative direction, brand development, content strategy and other touchpoints that help to transform customers into advocates. His role will ladder up to the agency’s overall philosophy and vision of developing brand love and loyalty by creating exceptional brand experiences.

“Russell has a passion for crafting stories, a fluency in media, and a track record of driving brands. He’s well known for taking a thoughtful approach to advertising, digital, and experiential campaigns for big names like AT&T, Southwest Airlines, BMW, and Walmart,” said Drumroll’s Co-Founder and CEO, Kirk Drummond. “Russell was the clear choice to partner with me to lead our creative efforts as we continue to grow, expand our client-base, and create meaningful and valuable connections between audiences and brands.”

Lambrecht said: “People will always connect to brands through stories, but now there’s an infinite way of experiencing them. It’s not enough to craft innovative ideas or root them in strategic insights. We have to engage with consumers using the most effective experiences we can get our hands on, period.”

He added: “After working the last few years in New York, London, and L.A., I’m excited to be back home in Austin as a part of the Drumroll team. My creative values line up perfectly with the Drumroll philosophy of creating campaigns and experiences with the purpose of building brand love. I can’t wait to join the amazing talent here. There’s no doubt we’ll continue to create break-through work and have some fun along the way.”
