Trademob takes a look at how far we’ve come in the mobile revolution in a blog and infographic by Michael Achtzehn, Marketing Communications Manager.

A few years ago, smartphones were starting to fundamentally change the way people live and work. As this change in social behavior started to take hold, a flood of new companies began entering the market, each offering their own innovations, solutions, technologies and standards. This was the case both on the consumer side of things, and in the B2B market. More often than not, these were stand-alone solutions which were part of the complex mobile ecosystem. Heiko Genzlinger, CEO Trademob GmbH (pictured top left) and his team find this fragmented industry was (and still is) an exciting place to be – innovative, quick to change, and full of opportunity. However, it was also chaotic (and still is!).

The following infographic provides an overview of some of the key developments that led the market to where it is today. From mobile slowly overtaking desktop computing, both in terms of hardware devices and the time spent using them, to the evolution of social media as a mobile platform. The dominance of Android over iOS, and apps over mobile web: the last five years have been quite a ride, and we’re looking forward to what the next five years have in store.
