How do you get the attention of a busy, on-the-go online audience? The best creative makes an emotional connection – be it shockingly scary or reassuringly comforting. This week’s innovative ads show you how it’s done in four very different ways.
Let the plays begin!!

Campaign Name: Evolve 2015

Country: United States

Advertiser: 2K Games

Media Agency: MODCo Media

Creative Agency: Team One Advertising

Publisher: ESPN

Built Using: Sizmek IAB Billboard Format

Link to ad:
This ad for the Evolve 2015 video game is scary good, with a full trailer and click through to purchase. It uses the Billboard ad format to shift publisher content up or down as the ad expands or collapses – making for a less disruptive (but still creepy) ad experience.

Campaign Name: Nintendo – 3DS Legend of Zelda

Country: Portugal

Advertiser: Nintendo

Media Agency: Mediaedge

Publisher: Eurogamer

Built Using: Background Video Template – Flash

Link to Ad:

This ad for the newest game in the Nintendo 3DS Legend of Zelda series is extravagant and immersive. It uses the Background Video Template for Flash to build gradually from a background animation to a full homepage takeover with video and links to more information on the game and the newest 3DS technology.

Campaign Name: Land of Quattro 2.0

Country: Singapore

Advertiser: Audi

Media Agency: Mediacom Singapore

Creative Agency: Publicis

Publisher: Yahoo Singapore

Built Using: Sizmek Workshop/ Weather Feature

Link to Ad:
The first of its kind in Southeast Asia, this ad for the all-weather Audi Quattro is a great use of the Weather Format, which allows the ad to sync with the time of day, temperature and relative regional info. When skies are clear, the banner shows an Audi on the road in Singapore on a clear day. When it’s raining on the island, it also rains in the banner – but the Audi drives on.

Campaign Name: Lipton Tea Pre Roll

Country: Turkey

Advertiser: Lipton

Media Agency: Mindshare Turkey

Creative Agency: Publicis

Publisher: tv8

Built Using: Sizmek Workshop

Link to Ad:
Lipton shares the joy and traditions of its Yellow Label tea using the In-Stream Breakout format. The format alternates in-player video with an expanding overlay to capture user attention and highlight key moments in the storyline.
