In this newly expanded position, the 14-year digital marketing veteran will lead Covario’s delivery team of more than 100 specialists in search marketing, social media, content marketing and analytics, who support global brand marketers and national retailers.
MacGurn will continue to be based at the firm’s San Diego headquarters. Until recently, he served as vice president for global earned media services, heading a team that won numerous search and social media awards for successful digital marketing programs executed on behalf of Global 1,000 brand marketers worldwide.

MacGurn has been with Covario for more than six years, where he originally joined the firm as a subject matter expert. He got his start in search marketing and specifically SEO in 2000, working primarily with clients in the financial sector. He also has a decade of software and web development experience in support of media companies and professional sports organizations, including NBC, The Discovery Channel, the NBA, and the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).
MacGurn holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of California, San Diego.
