Report: WhatsApp Goes Down for Several Hours Over the Weekend

ADOTAS – One imagines there was some nervous laughter in Facebook Land on Saturday when The Social Network’s prized new $19 billion acquisition, WhatsApp, reportedly was knocked out of service for several hours.

According to Metro, WhatsApp’s 450 million monthly users were forced to resort to other online social outlets to express themselves, or otherwise go chatless. The outage predictably prompted its fair share of snarky tweets:
