Infographic: Will WhatsApp be Facebook’s Answer Internationally?


ADOTAS — A blog post created earlier this week by Greg Kunkel of Marin Software connects the data and Facebook’s acquisition of WhatsApp with the international growth data. Kunkel notes that while North America represents just 15 percent of Facebook users, it accounts for roughly 52% of its ad spend, while Asia Pacific attracts just 11% of its ad dollars.

Marin’s data shows Facebook has plenty of room to grow from an international revenue standpoint, and Kunkel explores what role The Social Network’s $19 billion acquisition of WhatsApp might play in that growth.
