ADOTAS -– Last month, we reported on a new initiative by The New York Daily News in which it will invest its various resources — including seed money and office space — in startup media tech companies. Yesterday, the Daily News joined a dozen other companies, including media giants HBO, Meredith Corporation, AccuWeather, and Time Inc., for SwitchPitch NYC, a role-reversal event where established companies pitch funded innovation projects to qualified startups looking for great partners.
The companies, seeking to fill heretofore unmet needs in the ever-evolving digital world, pitched reps from more than 200 startups that attended the event, according to The News.
“There’s a big change going on,” SwitchPitch founder Michael Goldstein (pictured) reportedly told the audience. “Large companies want to innovate. They want to partner with startups.”
