DDB Worldwide has appointed John Minty as Chief Operating Officer of DDB California. Minty will be working alongside DDB California CEO Mike Harris to lead the reinvention of the agency offering to spur renewed growth. In the new leadership position, he will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of DDB’s U.S. offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco, including agency and client financials. Minty previously spent five years at independent agency Venables Bell & Partners where he served as CFO and eventually COO. Prior to VB&P, Minty served as McCann’s CFO of the Global Microsoft Account and Director of Finance and Operations at TBWA/Chiat Day. A native Australian, Minty also spent time at Whybin Lawrence/TBWA, Mojo Partners and Clemenger BBDO in Sydney.

Video technology company Unruly today announced that it has acquired Shareifyoulike, the leading German platform for social video advertising. The acquisition combines Shareifyoulike’s portfolio of high quality German media partners with Unruly’s global media footprint and proprietary technology, used by two thirds of the Interbrand 100 and their agencies. Unruly’s international expansion has been rapid in order to meet growing demand from brands; the company now includes 11 offices worldwide, including five in the US.

Tabitha Geary has joined as vice president of SapientNitro’s growing Washington, D.C. office, which serves as the base for the agency’s Mid-Atlantic business. She will report to Ron Shamah, managing director of the New York and Mid-Atlantic regions. Prior to joining SapientNitro, Geary served as CEO and managing partner at digital shop Create Digital, where she worked with Verizon Telecommunications, Barclay, Capital One, Ralph Lauren, Condé Nast, Showtime, and HBO. Prior to founding Create Digital, she was CEO and founder of Tabitha Geary Co., an online photo retail company, where she handled the business’ retail website development, point-of-sale (POS) system, public relations, brand and marketing materials, employee management, and liaised with national investors.
