In the wake of yesterday’s Windows 8 unveiling:
- According to Bloomberg News (via Newsday), Intel Corp. Chief Executive Officer Paul Otellini told employees in Taiwan that Microsoft Corp.’s Windows 8 operating system is being released before it’s fully ready, a person who attended the company event said.
- Today, doo announced the launch of the doo Windows 8 app 1.0, after releasing a preview version back in June. The Windows 8 app is now fully operational. It can import documents from external services like Dropbox, G-Drive and IMAP as well as automatically synchronize documents between different devices and platforms. With doo’s unique auto-tagging algorithms and technology, documents are automagically organized, making them instantly retrievable with the help of intelligent tags. Plus, the newly integrated ‘Projects’ feature allows documents to be easily arranged by group or event.
- The New York Times invited five computer users to try their hands at navigating Microsoft’s new tablet-friendly redesign.
