SAN FRANCISCO (October 2, 2012) – Social advertising company 140 Proof today announced that it has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of two senior executives. Sean Cowan (pictured right) has been hired to fill the newly created position of Vice President of National Sales. Michael Cascio (pictured left) has been promoted to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. These new assignments have been made in response to the company’s rapid growth and to help support future expansion.
Cowan most recently led regional sales for Apple iAd and Quattro, where he was instrumental in bringing the revolutionary advertising platform to leading brands and agencies. Cowan has over two decades of proven success in digital media sales and management and will assume leadership of 140 Proof sales teams located in New York, Chicago, Detroit, Dallas, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He is charged with building on 140 Proof’s current roster of 100+ brand advertisers and expanding the company’s leadership position in social advertising. Prior to Apple, Cowan held executive roles at Myxer and JumpTap, driving rapid growth and helping establish both companies successes in interactive, online and mobile advertising.
Cascio joined 140 Proof in 2011 and has been a key figure in establishing the company’s social ad offering as a must-buy for leading brands and agencies shifting ad spend to social advertising. In his new role, he will focus on adoption of the 140 Proof Platform beyond 140 Proof’s current partnerships with leading social sites, apps and networks that leverage the company’s technologies and data assets today. Prior to 140 Proof, Cascio held executive roles at Gawker Media and CollegeHumor.com, establishing both companies as leaders in digital publishing and media. Cascio will draw on both experiences in scaling 140 Proof’s Media Network while bringing new offerings to market.
