LinkSmart, the leading provider of text link optimization solutions for web publishers, announced today the appointment of Mike Stigliano as vice president of business development.
A 14-year veteran of the publishing and digital media industries, Stigliano brings a unique blend of technology and sales knowledge based on his experience at some of the world’s largest publishing companies, including Hearst Magazines and Condé Nast. In his new position, Stigliano will elevate awareness of LinkSmart’s optimization solutions with publishers and help lead efforts to grow its partner ecosystem.
“Mike has the credentials and the experience that LinkSmart needs as we enter our next stage of growth,” said Pete Sheinbaum, Founder and CEO of LinkSmart. “We’re honored to have him join our team and look forward to the many opportunities ahead where Mike will play an important role.”
Prior to LinkSmart, Stigliano was the director of business development at Hearst Digital, responsible for partnership development and strategy across the Hearst Magazines’ Digital Media portfolio including magazine brand sites such as Esquire, Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping, as well as standalone digital properties including Delish.com, RealBeauty.com and thedailygreen.com.
Previously, Stigliano worked for Condé Nast where he held a variety of positions in both technology and sales during his more than five-year tenure with the company. As an account manager, Stigliano was responsible for ad sales on Epicurious.com and Concierge.com. After Condé Nast, Stigliano co-founded ParentWeb Media Inc., where he developed and launched a social recommendation site. Stigliano is a graduate of the University of Delaware, and holds a MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
“I’ve always felt drawn to the startup world and fast-paced energy that comes from trailblazing a new technology,” said Stigliano. “After meeting Pete and learning about the LinkSmart solution, I believed in the product so passionately that I knew I had to be a part of that innovation. Having lived and breathed the publishing world, I am looking forward to helping others in the industry tackle the challenge of serving the needs of readers while satisfying the revenue and performance demands that marketing and business partners expect.”
