The Latest in New Hires


ADOTAS – Things have been busy at ADOTAS, and we’ve noticed quite a few new hiring announcements piling up. Looks as though things have been extremely busy around the industry, if all these announcements are any indication. Here’s a smattering of who’s joined forces with whom over the past two weeks, and if we’ve missed any, please let us know!

Social media management software provider Buddy Media has brought Susan St. Ledger on board as the company’s president. Previously, she’d been with, most recently as senior vice president of industry verticals.

• Rick Landsman has been named senior vice president of engineering for digital marketing hub provider [x+1]. This is a new position for the company. He comes most recently from Velti, where he’d been vice president of product technology.

Ian Mirmelstein has been hired as the vice president of strategic accounts — a newly-formed role — for mobile rich media ad platform Medialets. He’s held several executive positions in advertising and marketing, most recently with AT&T AdWorks.

“Audience Engine” provider Collective has announced two executive hires recently: First, Aman Verjee is now its CFO. Before Collective, he’d been divisional CFO with eBay’s North American Marketplaces operation. Second, Lewis Rothkopf has been named general manager of AMP publisher polutions. He comes from Brightroll, where he’d been a senior vice president.

Sheila Buckley is now the CRO of contextual advertising company Vibrant Media. This is a new position for the company. Most recently, Buckley had been senior vice president of digital, mobile and cross-platform ad sales for The Weather Channel.

Rob Lissner has joined location-based marketing platform provider MomentFeed as special advisor to the CEO. He had been Facebook’s sales director.

Digital agency Possible Worldwide named Shane Atchison as its new CEO, and previous CEO Trevor Kaufman became the company’s chairman. Atchison had  previously been the CEO of ZAAZ, which he co-founded.

Paul Joachin is now the CRO of TubeMogul, a media buying platform for video ads. He comes from Vibrant Media, where he’d also been CRO+.

RTB ad platform Think Realtime has named Chris Smith its senior vice president for sales and marketing, a new position for the company. Previously, he’d been the president of VIBE Lifestyle Network.

Precision marketing platform provider Adara Media announced three high-level hires: James Bohannon is now vice president of engineering; before Adara, he’d held the same position at SmartZip. Greg Weber has been hired as director of sales for the Midwest. He hails from YuMe, where he’d been a senior account executive. And former Google CFO for autonomous vehicles Tobi Wessels was brought on as director of business development.

Social/interest graph 33Across has hired Steven Stein as regional vice president of sales for the West and Midwest regions. Beforehand, he had sold the travel audience to brands for Sojern.

Gordon McLeod has been named president of cloud-based consumer data company Krux. McLeod left his post as president of the Wall Street Journal Digital Network in 2010 and has since served as an advisor and board member for a number of tech companies.

“Social engagement advertising” company BLiNQ Media announced two executive hires: Miles Dennison has been named its CRO and David Rollo its CSO. Previously, Dennison had been senior vice president of sales at DoubleVerify, and Rollo had been senior vice president of digital and social media strategy with 22squared.

• John M. Haake has been hired as vice president of marketing for ecommerce services provider HookLogic. Haake had earlier held high-level positions with Synaptic Digital and Turn.

“Emotive-based media company” Twelvefold Media has named Jenny Brodowsky as vice president of Sale for the Eastern region. She comes to the company from Cross Pixel Media where she had been, most recently, director of sales.

• Mike Galeski is now director of the VFN (Virtual Fan Network) Golf division of Amplify Social, which provides “social amplification” services (via sports marketing) for brands. He’d previously been executive vice president at Peter Jacobsen Sports.

Brand engagement firm Sullivan has hired Bill Westcott as managing director of strategy, a newly-created position. He comes most recently from CoreBrand Communications, where he’d held the same position.

• Eric Porres is now the CMO of Rocket Fuel, which provides artificial intelligence advertising services to digital marketers. He had previously held the same position at Lotame.

Pharmaceutical/bioscience/medical device advertising agency Digitas Health announced two high-level appointments. Tim Pantello was named senior vice president and head of marketing, while Geoff McCleary was named vice president/group director for mobile innovation. Pantello had been managing partner at Tribal DBB, and McCleary had led the Mobile Marketing Center of Excellence at imc2.

• Jen Soch has joined media agency MEC North America as managing partner and global account director. She had previously served as senior vice president with MediaVest.

Ad agency for retail brands Zimmerman Advertising hired Scott Becher as executive vice president and managing director. Before Zimmerman, he’d led his own agency, Sports & Sponsorships.

Mark E. Young is now president of legal and financial market intelligence firm ShiftCentral. He was formerly CMO of the law firms SNR Denton and Foley Hoag.

Marketing agency Blue Chip Marketing Worldwide announced two executive hires: Ellen Oberman was named vice president and general manager of brand practice, and Adam Kaplan was named vice president of client services. Oberman comes most recently from McGarryBowen Chicago, where she was the marketing and communications consultant on Pfizer, and Kaplan had been director of integrated marketing and communications for a number of companies, including Next Level Innovations Group, and Gemstone Hotels & Resorts.

Brian Marks joined sports and entertainment marketing company Front Row Marketing Services as vice president of motorsports and automotive performance. Previously, he’d been with TopSpeed Management, a company he’d founded.

John Hammond is now head of marketing and digital for “virtual record label”/marketing agency Missing Piece Group. This is a new position. Hammond had most recently been vice president of marketing and digital strategy for The MuseBox.
