New Hires: The Weekly Roundup


ADOTAS – It’s that time of the week again. Before you take off for the weekend, take a gander at who’s been hired or promoted at the advertising technology companies, digital ad agencies, digital marketing firms and other associated entities you know or know about. Good luck to this week’s movers and shakers. Will you be next?

• Peter Horn has been named CRO of contextual targeting company NetSeer. Previously, Horn had served as executive vice president and CRO at HealthCentral.

• John Anagnost is now the vice president for sales (Eastern region) for digital marketing hub provider [x+1]. This is a new position for the company. Before this, Anagnost had been president of the search marketing agency Reprise Media.

Digital marketing management platform DataXu has hired Geoff Dodge as executive vice president of sales and marketing. He had previously been senior vice president of sales at

Digital media and content platform Martini Media announced three upper-level hires this week, as the company also opens new offices in Chicago and Atlanta. Michael Watson has been named director for the Southeast region. Most recently, he’d been digital regional sales director for the Hearst Corporation’s TV group. Also, Ron Golminas (former vice president of Midwest sales for has been named director for the Midwest region, and Alexandra Miller (formerly of The Economist Group) has been tapped account executive for the Northeast region.

• Bernhard Glock joins user-generated advertising forum Zooppa as an advisory board member. He comes to Zooppa from the Bernhard Glock Media Leadership Company, which he’d co-founded, and Medialink, where he was senior vice president.

Social media marketing agency Banyan Branch announced a pair of hires this week: Matt Haynes is now director of social strategy and media planning, and Kerry Antezana is now director of agency services. Haynes had previously been social media lead and media director at MEC Interaction, and Antezana had been a creative director at JWT Inside.

Ad agency Ignited promoted vice president/group directors Jordan Atlas and Troy Scarlott to senior vice president/executive creative directors.

• Chad Cooper is now director of business development for Speedshape, which creates CGI, interactive and 3D content for ads, brands and movies. He’d previously been vice president/partner at Milagro Post.

Digital media-focused PR firm blast! PR has brought Lana McGilvray on board as principal (the company’s two other principals are Bryan and Kathleen Formidoni). She had previously served as vice president of marketing at PulsePoint.

Media agency MEC named Scott Schwartz senior partner for engagement planning. Beforehand, he’d been part of UM’s global strategy team.

Advertising law firm Venable LLP has added Leonard L. Gordon as a partner in both its advertising and marketing and its antitrust practices. He had previously been Northeast regional director with the Federal Trade Commission.

Internet radio service Pandora announced three high-level hires. Tommy Pizzo is now regional vice president of the East Coast, handling advertising solutions. He’d worked with BrightRoll before this. Brian Colbert is now vice president of mobile advertising sales. He’d previously been ESPN’s senior director of mobile advertising sales. And Brian Mikalis, who had handled Pandora’s discretionary ad inventory, was promoted to senior vice president of monetization and mid-market sales.
