“Future of Publishing” Video Series: How Bloggers Can Monetize Their Networks


ADOTAS – Whether you’re on the publishing side or the marketing side, no blog is an island, and if you’re out there blogging, you’ll want to create relationships with other bloggers. And those relationships aren’t just about spreading your name around — if you’ve created a product that you’re trying to sell, you can build up a network of fellow bloggers who promote each other’s work. That’s what marketing expert Murray Newlands and star blogger Darren Rowse (who’s managed ProBlogger and Digital Photography School, among other blogs) talk about in the latest edition of Newlands’ video series The Future of Publishing. Rowse explains how he’s made money by making the most of the bloggers he’s connected with: He produces photography ebooks, and through cross-promotion with other blogs and affiliate programs (wherein he’ll provide a commission to partners who can promote and sell his books), he’s able to monetize his network. “I don’t push things on other bloggers,” Rowse says, “I just build relationships.” Watch the video here:
