ADOTAS – Search engine optimization software provider (for enterprise companies) BrightEdge announced late yesterday it had raised $12.6 million in new funding, in a Series C round. Intel Capital, a new investor led up this round, and previous investors Battery Ventures, Altos Ventures and Illuminate Ventures also contributed.
The new funds accompany substantial growth for BrightEdge: It also claims 400 percent growth year over year and says it’s doubled its staff in the past 18 months. Around the time of the announcement, CEO Jim Yu had told TechCrunch the company had previously received $9 million-plus in earlier funding rounds, but had only spent $3 million. Yu intends to double the staff’s size again, to open New York and London offices, and to add to the company’s product suite, while adding to its customer base.
