Sprout Acquired by InMobi, Will Remain Independent

ADOTAS – HTML5 rich media creation and distribution platform Sprout has been acquired by InMobi, but will continue to operate as an independent company.

Sprout made some noise last year when it added the ability for its Engage Ad platform to serve the same creative in either Flash and HTML5 to the appropriate device. Major brands like Chevrolet, Disney and Paramount Pictures are clients. In the next few months, Sprout is planning to add new products such as workflow enhancements, analytics and additional ad units.

“Sprout’s technology solves a critical need for the industry by helping bring engaging mobile ad experiences to consumers all around the globe,” said InMobi CEO Naveen Tewari. “The acquisition fits perfectly with our vision to enable the mobile ecosystem with best of breed technology and services.”

In May, InMobi introduced its SmartPay performance-based mobile payments system to its global mobile ad network in private beta.
