Mobile App Inventory Can Almost Absorb Online Display Demand

ADOTAS – With over 600,000 apps available for more than 350 million iOS and Android devices (and both figures continually moving upwards), it can’t be a surprise to hear that mobile app display inventory is booming. But the rate of incline is absolutely amazing: according to a new report from mobile analytics specialist Flurry, by the end iOS and Android app inventory could consume all U.S. display Internet ad spending.

And that’s just for starters — at an average CPM $2.50, available mobile app inventory could handle four times the estimated spend on online display by the end of 2012 if it stays on the current growth trajectory.

Check out Flurry’s blog for details about methodology as well as data on household income and demographics of U.S. smartphone users.
