Rep. Blackburn Leads Privacy Roundtable at New IAB Ad Lab

ADOTAS – The Interactive Advertising Bureau celebrated the launch of its new IAB Ad Lab, an industry community center for gatherings of up to 74 people, at its NYC headquarters by hosting the first of several online privacy roundtables led by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.). IAB leadership, including President and CEO Randall Rothenberg, and 15 representatives from member companies and partnering trade associations joined Blackburn to discuss industry self-regulatory efforts regarding online privacy.

“Data driven advertising is the lifeblood of our most dynamic economic sector. It is also the crux of growing consumer privacy concerns,” said Blackburn. “The Ad Lab is an excellent space from which IAB can highlight the work advertisers are doing to keep the Internet free, promote economic expansion, and protect the consumer.”

The modularly designed Ad Lab will be the new home for IAB board and committee meetings, product demos, press and award events, networking receptions, and meet-ups. In addition, the space will be open to member companies and other digital marketing firms for meetings and sponsored events. IAB aims to sponsor more presentations and debates by digital advertising thought leaders in the venue.

“The Ad Lab was created precisely to facilitate conversations about what the interactive advertising industry is doing, where the industry is going and what we’re doing to maximize the experience for both the provider and the consumer,” commented Mike Zaneis, IAB senior vice president of public policy and general counsel.

Reader Comments.

Why does Marsha Want Congress to Regulate the Internet? Why not just say NO FEDERAL branch (the FCC and congress and the federal courts included) has any authority to decide or rule on any aspect concerning the Internet?

BUT Marsha Blackburn did Vote FOR: Patriot Act Reauthorization, Electronic Surveillance, Funding the REAL ID Act (National ID), Foreign Intelligence Surveillance, Thought Crimes “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act, Warrantless Searches, Employee Verification Program, Body Imaging Screening, Patriot Act extension; and only NOW she is worried about free speech, privacy, and government take over of the internet?

Marsha Blackburn is my Congressman.
