Taykey Studies the Brains of Summer

ADOTAS – Maybe it’s the heat of the sun smelting your cerebral cortex into your spine, but men and women seem to think differently in the summer. Ad platform Taykey, which features an algorithm that analyzes real-time social media trends to predict consumer behavior, has taken a look at the terms that most come up most during social media conversations regarding summer.

Surprisingly, “beer” is no. 3 on men’s summer minds while “dance” is no. 1 — I find this particularly confusing as I need a lot of beer before I feel like dancing. I can relate more to the women, who mentioned “sleep” enough times to push it to the fifth slot. However, both men and women posted the terms “party” and “show” in high frequency in summer-related conversations.

Upon launching earlier this month, Taykey announced it had closed a Series B round of financing with participation from Sequoia Capital, Softbank Capital and Crescent Point. The company will use the funds to bulk up its engineering staff in Tel Aviv while procuring some salespeople for its NYC operations.
