Smartclip Gets New Name (MediaBrix), New Chief (Brandt)

makeoverADOTAS – On today’s edition of “Extreme Makeover: Online Advertising Edition,” Smartclip changes its name, re-calibrates its industry focus and installs a new captain at the helm. You’ll be stunned by the transformation, if you even recognize the former video ad network.

As SmartClip has decided to re-foucus its business on video, display and mobile advertising formats within social media platforms, the team decided a new name was appropriate. Rebranded as Mediabrix, Ari Brandt has been tapped as the outfit’s new CEO. An veteran with executive stints at Conde Nast Digital, Yahoo! and DoubleClick, Brandt has served as CEO at LinkStorm since 2009.

“MediaBrix is narrowing its focus to better serve Fortune 1000 brands looking to connect with consumers where they are most engaged and spending the majority of their time,” he commented. “MediaBrix brings together a foundation for a comprehensive social advertising solution to maximize ad effectiveness.”

MediaBrix aims to become a one-stop shop for advertisers on social platforms like Facebook by offering ad creation, media buying, optimization and analytics.
