Got Funds? $20 Million for JiWire

money_tree_small.jpgADOTAS – Location-based advertising firm JiWire bumped its fundraising total to $45 million with a $20 million Series C round of funding led by Trident Capital with participation from existing investors Comcast Interactive Capital, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Norwest Venture Partners and Panorama Capital.

The latest cash injection will go toward JiWire’s location-based advertising initiatives such as Compass, which serves location-related ads to mobile app and public Wi-Fi users. In November, JiWire acquired NearbyNow, a local search provider and developer of mobile shopping apps.

“We are in a period of phenomenal growth, leveraging location to transform the advertising market,” said CEO David Courtney. “We have our sights set on enhancing our proprietary data technology, expanding our unique and extensive distribution network and providing revolutionary ad products for our growing client base of leading advertisers to locationize their brands.”
