If Suburban Reality Weren’t Augmented Enough…

mindblownADOTAS – Earlier this week we were quite smitten with Vassault Systemes for turning cereal boxes into video games and augmented reality campaigns. Today’s neato augmented reality campaign comes from Explore Engage in partnership with Commbank and IKON.

Basically turning house hunting into a game, consumers can use the Commbank 3D reader for iPhone on a print ad for the Cherryford Hill suburb (somewhere in Australia) to take a 3D tour of the neighborhood, complete with a Sims-like guide named Paul. Check out the video:

Pretty neat — I’m curious how soon we’ll be able to take mobile tours of houses by scanning classified print ads with our mobile devices… That is if people still use classified print ads by the time the technology is widely available…
