ADOTAS – This search retargeting thing is getting buzz: Chango just closed a $4.25 million Series B round of financing led by Rho Canada, part of Rho Capital Partners. Previous investors iNovia Capital, Metamorphic Ventures, Extreme Venture Partners and 24/7 Media co-founder Geoff Judge also participated.
Employing search intent data into display targeting, Chango boasts that its highly diverse data partners allow clients to use its full-service platform to target more search queries per month than Bing or Yahoo. Recently iCrossing veteran Dax Hammon came on board as CRO while 24-7 Media cofounder Chris Dingle was named COO.
“While many companies’ are speaking to search retargeting, Chango is taking a much more comprehensive and holistic approach, focusing on continually offering the industry’s best service and platform and on making this platform work effectively for a broad array of brand and direct marketers in multiple industries,” said Roger Chabra, general partner of Rho Canada who will be joining the search retargeter’s board. “Chango is the early leader in an exploding sector and we share the team’s belief that there is an opportunity to build a very large and disruptive business in the multi-billion dollar online ad market.”
