ADOTAS – Facebook may be where all the kids like to hang out, but it’s still kind of a sketchy neighborhood for retailers interested in social commerce. My goodness, even CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s fan page was hacked just the other week!
To make social retailers feel safe conducting business on the most popular social network, Adgregate Markets has added Symantec’s VeriSign Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificates and the VeriSign Trust Seal to its ShopFans Facebook storefronts. In addition to added transactional security, merchants will be able to hang Symantec’s “VeriSign Trusted” seal on their pages.

By displaying the VeriSign Trust seal, Facebook stores created with ShopFans will transform more browsers into buyers.”
The Symantec partnership comes after Adgregate signed a security deal with McAfee and formed a privacy alliance with TRUSTe.
