ADOTAS – In a move celebrated by renowned excellence aficionados Theodore Logan and Bill S. Preston, Esquire, the Interactive Advertising Bureau opened the doors of its Mobile Marketing Center of Excellence, with Anna Bager serving in the newly created position of president and general manager of the center.
The independently funded and staffed unit within the Bureau has received support from 16 IAB member companies; eight of them — including Google, Yahoo and Microsoft — will be represented on the center’s board of directors. Resources will go toward market and consumer research, case studies, training, eduction and the development of best practices for mobile marketing.
Bager was most recently head of business intelligence for the multimedia division of global telecommunication firm Ericsson.
“What the mobile marketing ecosystem needs in order to grow is a dedicated force of industry experts working together to promote best practices and solve vital supply chain issues,” she said. “That’s exactly what the Mobile Marketing Center of Excellence will provide.”
Also, the IAB announced today that Randall Rothenberg, who had served as president and CEO of the organization since 2007, would be leaving in the new year to become chief digital officer of Time. IAB Chairman David Moore — chairman, CEO and founder of 24/7 RealMedia — announced the interim leader will be Patrick Dolan, who was recently promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer.
