ADOTAS – Menlo Ventures led a $15 million Series C round of financing for Flurry, and Menlo Managing Director Sonja Hoel Perkins will join the board of the mobile app analytics, promotion and monetization firm. Also donating to the cause were existing investors Draper Fisher Jurvetson, InterWest, First Round Capital and Union Square Ventures.
In addition to expanding sales and marketing initiatives, the funds will be used to expand the reach of Flurry Anayltics and the App Circle app promoter and monetizer. Flurry will also dedicate some of the investment to new mobile app services.
Flurry Analytics — used by more than 35,000 companies in 60,000 apps on the iOS, Android, BlackBerry and J2ME platforms — powers AppCircle, an intelligent recommendation engine that suggest other apps to users of apps in Flurry’s network.
In November, Flurry recorded 5 billion anonymous end-user sessions from over 100 million unique devices for more than 35 billion data transactions. According to the company, more 30 million app users have viewed an AppCircle recommendation, resulting in several million app downloads.
