Travel Ad Network Flies Away With TravelMuse

skipping_smallADOTAS – While it was once just another vertical ad network, the Travel Ad Network (TAN) is maturing into a real media company. The firm just boosted its owned and operated properties with the purchase of travel-planning website TravelMuse.

Attracting about 100,000 uniques each month, TravelMuse’s specialty is reaching consumers early in the “travel lifecycle,” when taking a trip is just a glint in Daddy’s eye. The site contains tools for assembling and sharing trip information as well as a recommendation service for destinations. The Palo Alto-based company had raised $6 million primarily from Azure Capital Partners and California Technology Ventures.

TAN CEO Brian Silver said that TravelMuse’s tools would leveraged across its various other owned and operated properties. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed, but TAN does have a nice wad of cash laying around thanks to a $15 million Series C funding round closed in October.
