ADOTAS – As 2009, the year of struggling, slinks even further into the distance, the Interactive Advertising Bureau, in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers US, reports U.S. online ad revenue for third quarter 2010 was $6.4 billion, a 17% hike over the year before. Even more impressive, it’s a record-breaking quarter, as the previous bar was set at $6.3 billion during fourth quarter 2009.
Unfortunately, the actual report doesn’t appear to be available at the moment — I’d really like to how much display has recovered and if video is still rapidly improving. That was the case last month when the IAB and PwC US reported that first half 2010 ad revenue was up 11.3% year over year and projected full-year revenue of $23.4 billion, which would break another record.
You know, we’re in the fourth quarter now, when ad revenue slopes up thanks to the holiday season — I think we can all expect record-breaking fourth quarter. The hardships of 2009 seem like they were so long ago.
