Survey Clashes With Groupon CEO’s Rosy Client Satisfaction Stat

coupon.jpgADOTAS – So Groupon CEO Andrew Mason just told Nicholas Carlson at Business Insider that, according to survey responses from 3,000 clients, 95% businesses want to work with GroupOn again.

Well that’s kind of interesting considering that a recent survey of 150 Groupon-using businesses from the Rice University Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business reported that 42% were unlikely to use GroupOn again. Why? Well, 32% of all those surveyed had unprofitable campaigns, versus 66% that did well.

Granted, we’re talking 150 businesses surveyed in-depth by a business school versus more than 3,000 responses collected from clients. Still, that’s a pretty big gap — perhaps businesses uninterested in going GroupOn again just didn’t fill out the company’s survey.

A new company, http://www.GrabTheDeal.com, is going to revolutionize the Social Buying Phenomenon. They are taking the social buying strategies of Groupon and mixing with Main Stream Media (TV, Radio, Print) to really push the brand and their businesses.

This ‘revelation’ is not surprising, because most companies, especially the small ones, have unrealistic expectations about handing out coupons. They ASSUME that people know something positive about their product and just need a nudge (like a coupon) to stimulate new usage. The problem is, these companies haven’t spent any money establishing awareness or creating a unique product PRIOR to distributing coupons…so consumers AREN’T eager to use a coupon because they don’t much about the company in advance. Couponing works when people ALREADY know something about a product in advance and feel that the price is a tad high. Until then, coupon redemption will be mediocre. Predictable!

Several groupon-like site aggregators (like http://www.dealosaurs.com) are showing up where you can see all the deals at once without signing up for the individual sites and getting these annoying daily emails.

http://www.dealosaurs.com is a wonderful site. You don’t have to search for various sites for discounts bcoz it searches almost all the popular deal sites. Even better you can search by specific cities and locations.

http://www.dealosaurs.com

This site is better than all aggregate sites in USA.

Dealosaurs searches for the discounts on many popular products, services and events. No longer waste time browsing many different sites to find deals, with Dealosaurs browse all deals through a variety of cities in one location. Once you select a deal, you will be taken to the actual site from which you can purchase the product, service or event tickets.
