ADOTAS – Longtime client Microsoft joined existing investors in injecting $50 million into real-time bidding platform AppNexus during a Series C round of financing. Additional participants Venrock, Kodiak Venture Partners and First Round Capital had previously invested in the Series B round; AppNexus’ total venture funding is $65.5 million.

AppNexus operates a real-time bidding platform that gives 120 ad networks across the globe, DSPs and other advertisers access to inventory from exchanges such as the Google Ad Exchange, Microsoft Media Network and OpenX. Founded three years ago by RightMedia and DoubleClick veterans, AppNexus has grown by 676% year over year and currently auctions more than 4 billion impressions daily.
The funding will go toward creating new products and further global expansion — AppNexus recently opened a data center in Amsterdam and has increased its staff from 23 to 65 this year.
