Google Gives Location-Based Boost to Local Advertisers

locationADOTAS – Google sure is showing its love for the locals. Through Google Places, free detailed listings for local businesses that show up in Google and Google Maps, Big G is offering easy-to-setup, location-based search ads.

Google Boost takes mere minutes launch, requiring an advertiser to check off relevant categories, give a brief business description, list a web page or Place page and establish a monthly budget. Based on search relevance and location, the ads will show up in the sponsored links area of Google and Google Maps search results pages, with special blue pins appearing on maps.

The rub? Currently Google Boost is only available in San Francisco, Houston and Chicago. You can fill out this form to get the service in your city, but for some reason I think they have New York on their radar…
