Web Host Kicks Church Sites to the Curb for Hate Speech

ADOTAS – Rackspace Hosting, web host to a plethora of websites, including two sites run by Dove World Outreach Center (pastor Terry Jones’ church) has announced that both of those sites have been shut down.
Jones is the pastor who recently rose to infamy for scheduling a Koran burning at the church. He claims that as an American Christian, he has the right to burn the holy book of Islam because “it’s full of lies.” Having used the church’s websites to gain publicity for the event by using the domain name “Islam is of the Devil,” Dan Goodgame, spokesman for Rackspace said the church violated the “hate speech” provisions of its contract with the web host.
Goodgame mentioned a complaint was made to the company, which made them aware of their customer’s existence at ll. The firm has over 100,000 business customers in 140 countries. He said, “We looked into it and made a determination that the two sites were in violation of the hate-speech provisions of our acceptable-use policy… We’re not trying to restrict anyone’s free speech right. We just feel that as a business we have the right to set rules.” Well done Rackspace.

I’m glad Rackspace Hosting took down those hate-filled sites.
What that so-called “pastor” did was reprehensible and morally bankrupt. He slandered the name of Christianity to prompt his perverse ideology.
It’s sad when a cult of 50 people can violate terms of use and use the Internet to sully a whole religion and people group.
Then too Perry endangered America and American’s abroad by providing Islamic extremists fodder for their agenda.
I hate to think this pastor can sleep at night knowing people in Afghanistan were killed in the hysteria he created. I hope not.
His actions were more than a violation of Rackspace’s terms, they were criminal.
