Facebook Tests New Stalking Solution
ADOTAS – Why do I have The Police’s “Every Breath You Take” stuck in my head? Besides having a freakin’ awesome palm-muted guitar line, everyone’s favorite salute to stalkers is playing on loop in my mind with the news that Facebook is testing a “Subscribe To” feature.
All Facebook reports that the new feature will supposedly make sure you don’t miss anything from a specific user. You’ll get notifications every time Julie updates her profile pic, posts a new link, updates her status, takes a shower… Whoa, sorry, not that last one…
Facebook said in a statement: “This feature is being tested with a small percent of users. It lets people subscribe to friends and pages to receive notifications whenever the person they’ve subscribed to updates their status or posts new content (photos, videos, links, or notes).”
So why not just be honest and call the feature “stalk”? Oh well, all I gotta say is watch out ex-girlfriends… Every post you stake, every update you make, I’ll be watching you.
