Got Funds? BuzzLogic Reels in $8.8 Million

money_tree_small.jpgADOTAS – BuzzLogic went fishing for funds in the Series B waters and hooked $8.8 million, with Adams Capital Management leading the round and Ackerlay Partners participating.

The digital media company, whose blog advertising platform reaches of 78 million blog readers monthly, will put the investment toward product development — overseen by new CTO John Donahue, formerly of Omnicom Media — and increasing its national sales team.

In addition, BuzzLogic introduced the BuzzRoll ad unit, which uses branded rich media content to encourage user interaction and sharing of company blog content, Twitter feeds, video and Facebook applications. During the beta period, trial advertisers saw unit and video engagement rates two to three times higher than Doubleclick rich media benchmarks.
