Welcome Aboard: Industry Hirings and Promotions

ADOTAS – Online tech firm aiMatch has brought on Chris Hanburger as vice president of global sales and ordered him to expand the company’s advertising platform for pubs in the U.S. and worldwide. Most recently he’s been providing strategic sales leadership at TrackSimple.com and BrashInsight, but he’s also got experience as Northeast regional director of publisher solutions for Microsoft.

Tagmaster TagMan continues to grow its U.S. base with the addition of Wendy L. Zenchyshyn as vice president of business development and Aaron K. Gragg as vice president of sales, two just-created roles. Zenchyshyn hails from Enquisite Search Analytics in San Francisco, where she served as director of strategic partnerships, and Gragg could last be seen at WebTrends in Portland, Oregon, where was a strategic account executive.

Y’hear, 24/7 Real Media was in a promotin’ mood, so it took out the stick o’ advancement and moved Jon Greenwood on up from corporate vice president of global operations to senior vice president and general counsel. While it was twirlin’ that wand around, it took a gander at Nicolle Pangis and bumped her up from vice president of product management of global media and technology to senior vice president of product management. After that came a grand jamboree.

Ad network Undertone Networks reeled in former Google Product Operations Manager Patrick Schoonveld to take on the role of product manager. Schoonveld also boasts experience as the general manager of development and ad operations director at Sourcefourge.

On a hiring binge to boost its North American presence, video ad network Smartclip has hired Max Beeh as director of West Coast sales, Sara Goold as director of sales planning and Michael Leidenfrost as ad operations manager.

• Right now, at the beginning of 2012, what are you watching the most closely for its ad and marketing opportunities?

  • Mobile. Smart devices have become standard, and advertising is only going to become more creative there.
  • Online video. It's a real competitor to TV now, and it presents really interesting ways to engage viewers.
  • Social media. The new Facebook timeline and the surge of Google+ have cracked the game wide open again.
  • Tempting as it might be, I don't want to get too involved in one aspect.
  • See, I think this might be a good time to see what would happen if we revisited MySpace, but made the ads slightly bigger... with more strobe effect.
