Xmarks Serves Espresso for Search
ADOTAS – Feel like your paid search campaign is a bit sluggish? Perhaps you need the social kick in the pants provided by bookmark manager Xmarks’ SearchBoost.
As a browser add-on and web service, Xmarks — which is available for Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari — boasts 4.5 million active users who complete 450 million searches a month. The company manages over a billion bookmarks with 350 million unique URLs.
A year ago Xmarks introduced Smarter Searches to users, sharing user ratings and reviews across the user base and enhancing organic search. With SearchBoost, Xmarks is expanding to paid search, overlaying Xmarks ratings onto search results when a browser has installed Xmarks. At the moment, the service is only available for Firefox, but IE- and Chrome-enabled SearchBoost is coming soon.
With sites ranked across 250,000 topics, beta tests with 200,000 users resulted in click-through rates jumping by 15%. In addition, analytics reports offer insight not only into a marketers campaign but also competitor data regarding impression- and click-share as well as the number of users that have bookmarked a site.
SearchBoost has variety of price schemes starting at $29.99 per month and elevated based on an advertiser’s search campaign depth. Currently Xmarks is offering a 30-day free trial so search marketers can give it a taste.
