Media Mixers: Up in Smoke at the Hookah Happy Hour
ADOTAS – Last week, before Snowpocalypse ’10 started, I walked into Le Souk Harem for a very low-key and certainly original kind of social networking happy hour.
Hookah Happy Hour Tuesdays is a social networking event for all industries that is organically evolving into more and more of an online media-centric party. This was the intention all along for couple Mike Demby and Jessica Musicus when they created this event as they both have roots in the advertising and marketing world. This fun couple’s vision for a cheap and classy mixer has totally turned into a successful reality.
The event is definitely the most unique and affordable networking party in the city, aside from a completely free event that is. For $5, you get two-for-one drink specials and a mouthpiece for the communal hookahs.
I ran into a co-worker who introduced me to a few folks and even though the turnout was sparse this time around (impending blizzard and all), the vibe was cool and chill and definitely one that any industry person should check out. The event frequency changes, generally occurring twice a month. People from all industries are welcome and should check this party out!

Hi guys… What was not mentioned is that for only $5 you get all of the following: open bar from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, 2 for 1 drinks from 7:30pm-8:30pm, 50% off regular hookahs till 8:30pm, as well as a free hookah on the bar for everyone to share with your own mouthpiece.
We are currently doing this every other Tuesday and would love to have everyone come by. Check out http://www.j2mevents.com/weekly_events.html for information on our next event or sign up to the mailing list to receive an invite.
I hope to see you next Tuesday March 9th.
Michael and Jessica
