The social e-commerce company scooped up social shopping site Stylehive, which boasts 60,000 registered users that scour the site for the latest trends and products in the fashion and beauty universe. Curatemedia, the newly launched parent company, will be the corporate brand that oversees the two.
According to Curatemedia CEO Scott Morrow, these are the first steps in forming a vertical network of social shopping sites. “Social shopping is about enabling a lifestyle though products. We are proud to have pioneered this idea and are excited about bringing social shopping to other verticals,” he said.
In addition, ThisNext confirmed that it raised $1.2 million in a Series C round of funding. Investors included Clearstone Venture Partners, Anthem Venture Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The company plans to use the fund in developing shopping tools and expanding growth into new areas of shopping.
