AdSafe Reports a Safe Fourth Quarter for Brands

armor.jpgADOTAS – According to AdSafe’s quarterly review, it was a pretty safe fourth quarter for brands on the display advertising front. Based on a rating scale of 0-1,000, with 1,000 representing a high degree of brand safety, AdSafe Safety Index came in at a health 814, the average rating across all pages, for the fourth quarter of 2009.

However, 31% on inventory still fell below the AdSafe safety threshold of 800. In addition, there was a high quantity of nontransparent inventory in the beginning of the fourth quarter, but it decreased from 58% to 18% by the end.

AdSafe also noted that 29% of traffic was served to sites featuring user-generated content; 27% of this content was deemed inappropriate for brand advertisers due to problematic subject matter.
