Shopping for ‘Basterds’ on the Go
ADOTAS – I can’t think of a better Hanukkah present than a film with a bunch of hard-ass Jews scalping Nazis — can you? The kids will love it, but supplies are limited. Better pre-order now via your mobile.
Universal Studios Home Entertainment has teamed with Adgregate Markets to launch a mobile commerce (or mCommerce as the kids like to put it) campaign for the DVD release of “Inglorious Basterds,” Quentin Tarantino’s hyper-violent World War II fantasy. Through secure rich-media ad units viewed on their mobile phones, users will be able to pre-order the DVD before its Dec. 15 release.
Ignited also takes credit for the innovation with its media strategy, a well as Greystripe, which is delivering the ads on its media-rich mobile network.
“The time has come to merge the technologies that will optimize the mobile advertising experience for consumers, publishers, and advertisers alike,” said Henry Wong, CEO of Adgregate Markets. “mCommerce advertising is all about combining impulse, speed and convenience. The fewer steps it takes for consumers to shop, the more effective campaigns will be.
The DVD might make a nice Christmas present as well — as the “Indiana Jones” movies showed, slaughtering Nazis is a universal pastime.
