ADOTAS – John Shomaker has been named chief executive officer of AdJuggler. Formerly Shomaker had been with marketing consulting firm MarketBridge.

Promotions are all the sweeter when they come at the end of a crazy year: Burst Media announced that Ryan Gould has been promoted to vice president of national sales while Tim Taylor has been named the new West Coast sales director at Giant Realm.

Look who else got a career boost: once the CFO, Edward Mesloh is now COO of Adrenalina.

Global interactive marketing agency Nurun received four W3 awards from the International Academy of Visual Arts for its work with Charlotte, N.C.-based SPX.

House Party invited Rishad Tobaccowala to come on board the advisory board.

• Right now, at the beginning of 2012, what are you watching the most closely for its ad and marketing opportunities?

  • Mobile. Smart devices have become standard, and advertising is only going to become more creative there.
  • Online video. It's a real competitor to TV now, and it presents really interesting ways to engage viewers.
  • Social media. The new Facebook timeline and the surge of Google+ have cracked the game wide open again.
  • Tempting as it might be, I don't want to get too involved in one aspect.
  • See, I think this might be a good time to see what would happen if we revisited MySpace, but made the ads slightly bigger... with more strobe effect.
