The Art of Living, Meditation for a Better GoogleDate: 12/7/09 – 5:30 pmLocation: 345 Park Avenue, Park Conference Room in the East tower, San Jose, CACost: $21.49Description:The conversation will start with a short list of the benefits to Google of “these kinds” of programs – that support health and wellness. Mark will offer an experience of the benefits of breathing and meditative practices. The session will close with further interactive conversations on how such practices could become more accessible within our corporate settings.SPEAKER BIO: Mark Ball has been working at Google for six plus years developing non-technical training programs. Distinct groups served by these trainings include engineering managers, data center technicians, sales people, new hires and interns. Mark is currently enrolled in USF’s MS in Organization Development. In addition to Mark’s formal job function at Google, he has also worked to bring the Art of Living* programs to its community. Through practical breathing and meditation techniques these programs have provided Googlers with effective tools for improving their effectiveness, resilience and innovation.The Art of Living Foundation is a non-profit, educational, and humanitarian organization (http://artofliving.org). Previous to his term at Google Mark worked full time for the Foundation. In the aftermath of 9/11, Mark guided teams of people in relief efforts sponsored by the Art of Living. He also previously spear headed the launch of the Foundation’s university programs, leading teams of college students to organize on-campus events throughout the United States.
