Tagged.com Gets a Whoopin and Settles
Who knew that inviting your friends and family could be so costly or offensive. Tagged has settled with the two prosecuting AG’s over reported e-mail invitation practices that mislead consumers.
Tagged has agreed to pay $750,000 in penalties and legal fees to New York and Texas. The terms of the settlement has Tagged paying New York $500,000 in penalties and legal costs. Texas will get $250,000.
Tagged has also agreed to be a good corporate citizen and properly invite friends by now showing proper disclosure and privacy information to ensure consumers are not mislead.
